Welcome to the best emergency preparedness books we can find, from Joe Krueger and Virginia Nicols

We live in earthquake country.  As CEO and President of The Marketing Machine® we’re experts in authoring and managing classic direct marketing campaigns, mostly for Fortune 500 companies. An award-winning Disaster Recovery program (which brought in millions for a major utility) led us to become emergency preparedness activists in our own neighborhood.

We’ve headed up our local neighborhood response team for over 15 years!

Both of us are certified graduates of the FEMA CERT, NIMs and ICS programs.  In addition, Joe holds a General Class Amateur Radio Operator’s license and is certified by the American Red Cross in Emergency Shelter Management. We get more training every year.

We are looking for the best emergency preparedness books that support people who . . .

  • believe in planning ahead and in taking action now
  • know that running off to the wilderness is not a realistic survival strategy
  • realize that our best chances for survival come from connecting with family, neighbors and co-workers for mutual benefit.

You’ll find this emphasis on the well-being of the entire community in all our work.

Our website —  https://EmergencyPlanGuide.org  — is packed with preparedness ideas and ongoing tips for families, workplace and community groups. (You can sign up there to get an Advisory every week.)

Our own series of books growing at Amazon — the Neighborhood Disaster Survival Guide series – is aimed at helping a variety of special communities become more resilient with the help of CERT training.

This site is a place for community leaders and for all people who believe that preparedness planning just makes sense. We try to find the BEST emergency preparedness books and articles to inspire that planning.

Here’s our mantra:

The more we know, and the more we work with neighbors and co-workers, the safer we all will be.
